Music Job Description

Medics music is relatively unique on the committee as it is one of the few Galenicals positions where if you have a music ensemble idea you can make it happen and set it up immediately. It is very good fun and rewarding and there have been some great concerts this year.

Experience playing and managing music within the university is crucial for this job as a lot of it is liaising with the music department and the Music Society (BUMS) for venues and audiences. There are three main ensembles: a choir, an orchestra and the Medics Big Band and all of them need concerts and rehearsal spaces organised. You also have to set each up with managers for the year and liaise with them about budgets and investments.

Go for this position if you have experience with university level music and are passionate about it and don’t mind photocopying music each week.
