Sports Job Description

Traditionally 1 Female and 1 Male Captain

Responsibilities:

• Act as the main source of support to all team captains
• Organise vital funding for teams by liasing with UBHT trustees
• Encourage participation in Galenicals Sports through recruitment of new players esp. fresher’s
  • Spiels in Galenicals welcome pack
  • Medics fresh
  • Lecture video (freshers)
  • Website pages.
• Bristol to Bath bike ride
• Organise ‘Welcome Drinks’ (October)
• Organise the LEGENDARY Sports Club Dinners (summer and winter)
• Organise Nantes Sporting exchange in February(2010/2011 = AWAY)
• Arrange Block Fixtures with other med schools (can be tricky)
• Sports Club Awards at end of season
• Compile an end of season report for the UBHT trustees
• Rounders in the Summer
• Assist other committee members in their roles
• Anything else you fancy setting up!

The ideal candidates should:

• Play for an existing Galenicals Sports Team
• Have attended at LEAST one Sports Club Dinner
• Have a good understanding of what running a sports team involves
• Enthusiasm for the position
• Have an extensive fancy dress wardrobe!
• Hold your own in the bar
