Webmaster Job Description


The role of webmaster primarily involves managing the website and keeping things up-to-date. This includes calendars, adverts, news items, photo galleries and useful links.

Other roles include:

  • Developing new areas of the site requested by other committee members.
  • Managing committee mailing lists and email addresses.
  • Consulting with the faculty on issues regarding e-learning, blackboard etc.
  • Conducting online surveys and elections.
  • Supporting the rest of the committee in all computer-related matters.

While some knowledge of website and graphics design is helpful, it is not necessarily essential, with good organisation and more general computer know-how being more important.
